Georgia's First Sewing Lesson

Georgia was recently inspired by Mel Goodsell's Gorgeous daughter Bella, after seeing her beautiful sewing she has been recently doing.... so she wanted to learn too.

what a joy it was to show her a couple of things and see her take to it so naturally...

Thankyou Bella, for showing us that 6 is a wonderful age to learn to sew... :O)

  2. Dear Georgia,

Your stitching is wonderful, I love the beautiful heart that you made. Mummy is very clever too for making a storybook all about you for her blog.

Oh Georgia, you clever little thing!! This stitching is absolutely beautiful. My Bella sat up and watched the little slide show and she said that she would love to do a heart one day. She also wondered how you did the top of the heart as it looked so pretty - is it a little star? We couldn't quite tell from the picture.

  4. Well done Georgia - what a special way to spend the day with Mummy. Was it raining there too? My daughter Madeleine who is also 6 spent the afternoon sewing with me - we embroidered Minnie Mouse on a jumper - we did cheat a little though and used our sewing machine. Your hand stitching looks just perfect! You will have to take it to school for news!

  12. Clever girl Georgia - and I thought it was going to be sewing on a machine (which I learned at that age) but no - REAL sewing!! This is something you will treasure forever and when you are teaching your daughter to sew one day you will remember how lucky you were that your Mum taught you.
