*QUEENIE*

this is another little project I've completed for

it's a little tag I've titled *Queenie*
I've used 2 catslife press stamps - Queen & Bee Doll (for the wings)
I also gave her a cute little hairdo.
on the tag I stamped with Stamp-it 'Memories' stamp from the siset003lk set
and other bits I used came from my Vintage Things kit
oh and I added a bit of bling, can't be a proper queen without a little bling ;o)

here's a close up

I also sliced through the tag with a craft knife and threaded the organza ribbon through
and tied at the front to add a little bit more elegance.

I made this tag today, I just love this beautiful image....
for the background I adhered layers of dressmaking pattern paper with
Alene's Satin Varnish to a piece of Daisy D printed paper.

Oh the months are whizzing by aren't they....I've put a ticker at the top of my blog to remind me of how close the next Scrap A While retreat is....

if you live in the Mid North Coast of NSW and would like to come, Lauren still has a couple of spots available... It's the most pretty place we stay at 'camp elim' on the Lakes Way near Foster.
You can email Lauren Dennis on scrapbooking@iinet.net.au
if you'd like to book in or ask her any questions about it..
I'm so excited I'll be teaching a class too... and there are some other classes on offer as well by some VERY Talented teachers including Lauren herself, (she'll kill me for saying this, but Lauren is a Scrapbooking Memories Master)
Anyway.... can't wait to get there and have the whole weekend to Create :O)

DCM little extra - faking it

For our Little Extra challenge at
this week, we'd like you to "Go Faux it" Yes, all we want you to do this week is to use something fake on your cards. For instance you could make fake ribbon, fake brads or fake chipboard - we think you talented folk can come up with lots more "let's pretend" ideas so we can't wait to see your ideas.
Here's my card, I've gone for a 'Faux Fabric' look with some pleated and scrunched Daisy D Paper, and the 'Faux Printed Paper' made myself with some Stampin Up Ink that was brushed onto wet cardstock, and then sprinkled some salt on top to make an interesting pattern (this paper was used on the bottom handcut scallope, and threaded through the buckle)
other bits I've used are K&Company chipboard buckle, K&Company Sticker, and my own handcut flower from a lovely scrap of PP, and ofcourse my sewing machine :O)

DCM weekly dare - text message

This week at Daring Cardmakers
the Design Team have come up with this idea for you to play with,
we hope you'll enjoy it. TEXT...
definition... the main body of matter in a book or manuscript. the actual wording of anything written or printed, short passage of scripture, etc
We'd like you to somehow incorporate text into your cards this week - not just one word.. but a portion of TEXT... like a poem, or newspaper print, Caligraphy, Even rip up an old text book and use some of the paper from it, there are masses of possibilities here, so let your imaginations run riot and let us see you texting to your heart's content!
Ahhhh....this is one of my fav mediums - Text...
I love incorporating text into my art..
so here is my card, I've inked up those scrummy new stamps I got from
Scrap A While last weekend for this card, oh I do love these stamps...
Lovely bits I've used are - Stamp-it Rachel Greig stamps, Bella chipboard frame & corner, Bella Blossom, Basic Grey PP, Tim Holtz PP, Photocopied vintage Newsprint, Minimarks Rub-ons, Versa Magic Jumbo Java Inkpad, Metal word & brads, computer generated words, string & my sewing machine.
on to some other things....
Well it's school hols here at my home we have one more week to fit a lot of fun into our days, so I'm enjoying the company of my three beautiful children, so If I'm not hanging out too much in Cyber Space,(Forums and Blogs) it's cause I'm enjoying spending time with them...
also
I've been making an Etsy shop, oh it's really fun
there is a little link in my side bar if you want to check it out let me know if you have an etsy shop in the comments and I'll come and check yours out sometime :O)

DCM little extra - Cartoons

Check out Lythan's fab idea for the Little Extra challenge this week at
Daring Cardmakers
We'd like you to have a go at making a cartoon inspired card! You could use the colours and patterns (eg Minnie Mouse's dress would mean a black, white and red spotty card; Winnie the Pooh red and um, honey coloured) or symbolic (eg using an anchor inspired by Popeye).
Well I decided to go all Australian this week,
and celebrate our own little cheeky bloke of the Bush,
Blinky Bill, with his gorgeous little sweetheart Nutsy.... apparently some of my fellow DCMers haven't heard of Blinky :O how is that possible.... LOL!!!
I loved Blinky Bill as a child reading my big brothers book (oh that's just a little tease for my brother... did you like that one Wazza...lol!!!)
Anyway the years have passed and now low and behold Blinky is on the Telly..
who would have thought...
ok...here's the copywrite stuff..
The postcard I have used is from
The Australian Children's Classic Postcard Book by Angus & Robertson
and the original artwork is by Dorothy Wall
other bits I've used are Heidi Swapp 'cherish' stamp, ribbon, chatterbox PP, Basic Grey PP, the applique gumnut is my own thingy, Mini marks rub-on, Sticko Alpha sticker and ofcourse my sewing machine...
So have you Dared to DARE yet?...come on I dare you!!!!
My kids are on school holidays for this week and next... tis lovely :O)

DCM weekly dare - Beady Eyed...

This week at Daring Cardmakers
it's our Saffa's turn to dare us all...
Its quite a simple challenge really. All I ask is that you make use of beads on your cards. They can be seed beads, big chunky beads or little sequins, whatever takes your fancy. We can't wait to see your designs....I hope you don't go all beady eyed by the end of the week!!
We have another new Guest Designer joining us for the next couple of weeks> We're thrilled to announce that the immensely talented
Sheila (manicstamper) has agreed to join in with our dares. Sheila is an inspirational stamper and regularly teaches and demonstrates cardmaking techniques - she's even appeared on TV -
so it's a real honour to have her on the team.
So the above card is my take on this weeks Dare
I used some scrummy Decoupage paper for this one, the Japanese lady and writting are from the sheet of paper, and I also used some Basic Grey PP, the bead is the gorgeous little hummingbird bead on the tassel, organza butterfly, Also used is my Stampin Up Delight in life stamp, and Fancy Pants Rub-on.
Alrighty then, I've been away from my computer for a couple of days,
I've been to Taree to teach a workshop at
Scrap A While
But I arrived the night before for the Midnight scrap
So I'll catch up this week with everyones blogs,
thankyou for all the lovely emails & comments on my blog
I've received while away

So I wanted to make the ladies who attended the workshop an ATC each
and here it is, thought you might like a little lookie
Now Kathy asked me to show what I bought while I was there

and Mel is always asking me to show some either some stash or my scrappin place...

So here are the goodies I bought... some oooooohhhhhh so scrummy Li'l Davis paper, chipboard borders, letters and some delightful little arrows.....I haven't quite finished the LO I've made with these goodies yet, will post it soon....
AND.....

Have a lookie at these STAMPS will ya!!!!!!!

ooooooohhhhh I can't wait to get them all inky!!!!

Well I'll be back soon with some picy's from the class...

I had such a fun time I felt like I was a grown up again...

Big Thankyou to Lauren from Scrap A While

and to all of the other Gorgeous girls who made it soooo much fun!!!
