new blogger....

I've just switched from old to new blogger.. so it appears some of the comments on the posts have changed.. some now appear as anonymous, so please feel free to sign your name if that's you. I appear to have lost all of your beautiful faces off the comments, but I think I've fixed that now.. If anyone has any tips.. I'm all ears... But really it wasn't at all painful to do.. if your worried.. Most of you have probably already done it..TTFN Gillian

Just a little something I prepared earlier...

This is a little book that I made this time last year... We had a very interesting year lot's of highs and low's and I just didn't get around to keeping a diary... so towards the end of the year I decided to make this little book to record everything I had scribbled all over our calendar.. And I thought I'd share it with you... Hope you like it.. TTFN Gillian :o)

Your Climb

This is a LO I created for Lachlan about his first ever climb.. It was at our church camp this year, This was a huge deal for Lachlan, he is very timid when it comes to heights, and those three steps he took up the climbing tower may as well have been 100, We were so proud he had a go but not nearly as proud as Lachlan...

Materials used......Bazzill Cardstock, Pressed Petals Letters, Scenic Route Rubons,Daisy D cardstock sticker, Dymo tape, Making Memories chipboard star, K&Co K-ology brad, Basic Grey chipboard buckle, Black Paint,Collections chipboard brackets, ribbon, and ofcourse my zig pen and sewing machine....

DCM Dare No 6

This weeks Dare from Daring Card Makers was to incorporated 'doodling' on a card.
Well when I doodle and doodle I do....
It's all over my Bible Study Notes, or over my telephone book, and it consists of flowers and Sun's. So I've taken my little sun doodle and transformed it into this card...
The centre of the sun is the end of a ribbon spool covered with printed paper, good way to recycle... Sorry I can't tell you who makes those yummy letters,
they've been in my stash for ever.
Anyway thanks for the Dare girls... You always come up with a challenge and your cards are gorgeous. So If your reading this blog and you haven't sucome yet to DCM What's stopping you.. We are all waiting to see what you make!
Go On I DARE YOU!!

Just a little ATC....

Well after being inspired by Rein, see last post.. I thought I'd have a bit of a go, at this collage/stamp style.. But I don't actually have that many stamps, so I've put my slant on it...
And this is a little ATC (artist trading card) that I have come up with... It was loads of fun..
Using a WW1 postcard, I scanned the image, then printed and trimmed around this lovely pair.
I also used 7 Gypsies - Printed paper(friends of soldiers) & mini key, Heidi Swapp Silhouette, Cosmo Cricket PP, sticko gem, & a blossom...
If anyone wants me to email them the original image of the postcard, email me - my email is in my profile.. Anyway I have other Post Cards, I might just have experiment with also later on.. TTFN Gillian :o)

Have a look at this blog :o)

Hi everyone,
Check out this blog site... http://stampingrika.blogspot.com/
Rein makes the most beautiful works of art.. I just love it..
I'd never seen this type of stamping, and it's captivated me.
Love your style Rein.

Pencil Lines Sketch No 7

This week's Pencil Lines Sketch was created by Lu Braxton..
This is my take on Lu's Sketch..
I really enjoyed using my new 'cherry Arte' calendar stamp on this LO, I've also added some of my Fav letters from Pressed Petals, and some lovely 7 Gypsies Paper..
This is Lachlan at his first piano performance. He only started the piano this year and is loving it.
Anyway check out what everyone else has done with this FAB sketch at Pencil Lines. Maybe you could even have a go..

DCM little extra.. 'sparkle'

The Daring Card Makers little extra for this week, was a fun challenge..
Use the word 'SPARKLE' as inspiration..
You can either use the word, or something that reminds you of it..
So I let loose, and used all of the sparkly bits in my stash.. well some of them anyway..
Have a go... I DARE YOU...

DCM Dare No.5

This is my new card for this weeks DCM Dare...
The dare was - Use some ribbon for the men in your life
So I made this card for my dad for his birthday.. Don't look DAD!!!

For this card I used one of my FAV printed paper's it's from 'Wild Asparagus'
and heaps of 7 Gypsies products... The little swing tag with the star is actually a tag that came on a 7 Gypsies Handle. The letters are Pressed Petals.

Anyway I had heaps of fun making this into the very wee hours last night, and I'm really loving doing these dares. So if you haven't had a go, get into the dares, they are so much fun....

Special Card

Well I've had a fun week,
I really enjoyed doing my Card Dare's and also joining in the Pencil Line Sketch, Scroll down and check out my efforts...
But really the most fun I had in the 'Crafty' zone this week was making a very special card for a very special lady...
My friend Merryn asked me to make a card for her daughter's 21st birthday, what an honour....
so here it is.
I used my brand new scanner and scanner her colour photo and printed it onto cardstock, to get this lovely smokey photo. I think this really enhanced Merryn's daughters eyes.... Isn't it a beautiful photo of her...
And then the rest just happened...

It's a buzz.....

What a great day, I dropped the boys off to school, then Georgia and I went to have a look at the shops, bought the new SC Mag, then we headed to a cafe for an early morning tea....
We knew this layout was in the Mag but it's always a buzz for us to open it up and see the layout in print...
So over our Date & Honey Loaf, my flat white & Georgia's choc milkshake, we shared our page.
Like I said 'what a great day'.
So if you've bought the new Scrapbook Creations No 36. We are on page 104

P.S.. It looks like another amazing edition. Lot's of inspiration just waiting to happen....

I guess now we are home, I'd better go and do some house work...

Flower Board Book

This is a little board book I made for a bit of fun for Georgia.
It has photos in it from her 5th Birthday.
She loves all of the sparkly bits and all of the charms.

It's a maya road board book and I used a glue stick to stick all of the paper down, then sanded all of the edges.
Then the fun began......
I went through my stash and gathered all of the little bits and pieces that I thought would make her smile..

Thankyou :o)

I just wanted to say 'thankyou' to everyone that has stopped by my little blog....
I've had heaps of fun making it, and I'm learning heaps, & know I've heaps to learn.
I will be adding regularly to it, so make sure you call again...
Thanks heaps to all of you who have left gorgeous messages, I do appreciate them all, And feel really blessed that you've dropped by & taken the time to leave a comment. I hope you are having a great day...

What more could a mother ask for than for her children to be united in play!
Ok so maybe it's not something that happens all of the time.....
But when It happens You will see a smile on my face as wide as the ocean. :o)

everyone loves nice cards

This is a shot of some of the cards I make, I love giving my cards to my friends and family.
It always surprises me at how much people love getting handmade cards.

I also sell these cards at Scrap A While, Taree
and at the Port Macquarie Art Gallery.

Face of an Angel

The journalling on this LO reads as follows...

Georgia's favourite fairy tale is Rapunzel.
She asked for these photo's to check out how long her hair was.

He's got a ticket to ride.

Finally I worked out what to do with all of those rollercoaster photo's from our holiday last year..
Jacob is such a thrillseeker.
It's not for me...
But you go Jacob!!!

But I have to admit it was fun to make this LO
and how cool are these rub-on's by Rebecca Sower.

our back yard in bloom

A layout without people...

it didn't hurt either..

Eleven at Last

Finally the day came when Jacob turned 11.
So happy, Don't you just love it...
My big new thing is to use numbers in words, even if I have the right letter left on the sticker sheet, I'll grab that 8 for a B, or that 3 for an E.

TTFN Gillian :o)

Remember

This gorgeous photo of Lachlan was taken by Colleen Palmer, Photo Elegance.

I trimmed around the leaf that overlaps the photo then I stitched over the all of the green leaves with the machine, and highlighted some of the background leaves also,
just to give it a little 'pop'.
