I just wanted to leave a little note here on my blog
I'm not going to be around blog land much for a little while
My Father suffered a heart attack on the weekend with other serious complications
Please think of Him and my Mother in your prayers
Thankyou, God Bless
and Go and give your Daddy a hug because you never know how long you'll have them xxx

Treasure Family

In my Design Team Pack from

this month I have a packet of Collections Chipboard windows
they are the same size as an ATC (2 1/2 x 3 1/2")
So I couldn't resist making a little 'chipboard' ATC
The images are all stamped onto the little 'pushout' pieces of the window.

(the best tip for stamping on these, is to ink up your stamp, place it face up and press your chipboard piece onto the stamp, that way you can stamp your image much more acurately onto the little piece of chipboard)

The 'father' stamp is - Paperbag Studios -The View
The 'mother' stamp is - Paper Artsy Stamp MN09
the 'child' stamp is - The Queens Dresser Drawers 'little ledger girl'
The Corner stamps are from 'The Darkroom Door - DDRS008 Doors' set
I also used the Collections Chipboard window, Collections tab words
Versafine Black ink and Versa Color 55 Umber and my sewing machine.

Hope everyone had a lovely weekend,
We start 2 weeks of school holidays this week...
and both sets of Grandparents will be coming for visits
so the children are really looking forward to that :)

Salt - His Presence

It was my turn to set the challenge for the next fortnight at
SALT
I chose the theme 'His Presence'
you can read all about it HERE

This is my piece for the challenge,

I chose to use Joshua 1:5 for my inspiration

To Me God's Presence is Perfect

Because He is Always with me.

I have used the 'fleur de lis' to represent the Trinity

Father, Son & Spirit

the large number represents the days of the year

and the 24/7 ofcourse that means the hours of the day and the days of the week

Have a lookie at the SALT blog sometime this week or next and see what the other girls have come up with for this challenge,

also we are always encouraged by the beautiful ART that the people who join in make,

their links are in our side bar at the Main Blog

or why not play along with us this time, we'd love it if you did :)

Thankyou Sue & Sephi :)

I had this lovely Arteypico award presented to me this week
by the lovely Sue and then by the lovely Sephi,
what an amazing honour coming from these two Creative Souls, their blogs are both so Inspiring, and they are both Fabulous Aussie Girls.... There are 5 rules attached to this award and they are:1. You have to pick 5 blogs that you consider deserve this award for their creativity, design, interesting material, and also contributes to the blogging community, no matter what language.2. Each award has to have the name of the author and also a link to his/her blog to be visited by everyone.3. Each award winner has to show the award and put the name and link to the blog that has given her/him the award itself.4. The award winner and the one who has given the prize have to show th link of "Arte y Pico' blog, so everyone will know the origin of this award.5. To show these rules
oh...dear... I always struggle when I have to give out these awards...
who to give them too
and I always worry so about who to give them too...
Because there are so many amazing people I look to for inspiration, for their creativity, design, interesting materials, and their contribution to the blogging community...
so firstly I want to REAWARD
SUE & SEPHI
(I don't know if you are aloud to do this...but I'm not normally one for rules....giggles)
then I'd like to give my remaining 3 awards to

ATC - JTH

This is an ATC I have made for my eldest son
My children all have little collections of my Art
I love that they want to collect it
and treasure it, kinda makes it all worth while :)

My Jacob is loves Maths, Numbers, and Science

and that's why it says 'Calculating Wonder'

I made this card to recognise him coming first in class in his maths exam last week,

oh and he also got a special afternoon tea too, which he thought was pretty good too ;)

I used some cool bits from

The Stamping Queen - Heidi Swapp Tape (which by the way is really great when you are needing to cover little chipboard pieces & sticking under punched out letters), Collections Chipboard Frame, Arrows & words, Artchix Collage Image, I did use the Catslife Press Numbers stamp too, but you can't see it very well cause I kinda got carried away with all of my embellishments..lol!

the letters I used are Colorbok punched metal letters with some 'stazOn' inked all over them, I also stamped his age onto the retro key using number stamps and StazOn'

I had such a sweet surprise on Friday, a little parcel arrived all the way from the UK
inside was this sweet little vintage tin and a gorgeous little gift card
it was from RUTH
when I opened the lid....
look what I found
I felt like a kid in a lolly shop
so many pretties
all sparkly
I love old bits of broken jewelry, it's such a joy to recreate with
what Treasures!!!

It was such a surprise and a total TREAT

{I love that the little notecard said

'sending you inspiration'

it did indeed}

I'll be back in a little while to post a picy of something I've made already using one of the sweet delights from this little 'treasure chest'

ok...so I'm hooked on Art Dolls now....

Well after showing my little miss my first Art Doll (see the post below)
She Declared that she loved them!!!
and would really like one
so I got to work on a little one for her this morning...
Lots of bits and pieces all stuck together :)
This is my kinda art!!!

I used some bits from

The Stamping Queen - they are the German Scrap Wings, Collections Manican body, Collections words, and that Fabulous little 'door knocker' in the centre of the body...

all the other bits are either from my jewelry making stash or from my scrapbooking stash.

These little dolls are great for using up 'odd' little bits.

Can you see the Tiny little locket for a foot, it's only 1cm in diam.
So I think my little miss will be pleased with this little dolly :)

a little bit of Vintage Art :)

This morning I had an order from
I got the Somerset Studio Mag, which I've only had a chance to quickly look at, Fabby to see all of those Gorgeous Blog friends names in there :)
and some of these cute little Collections manican bodies, and German Scrap Wings
and ofcourse I couldn't wait to play, so I didn't ;)
And I made my VERY FIRST REAL ART DOLL - What a Buzz!!!!

I acutally cut my 'Sumerset Studio' Mag....can you believe that????

naughty aren't I, but I cut this face out of the paperwhimsy add

so I've used a whole heap of little bits and pieces, that lovely jewelry finding I've used for the skirt comes from 'brass bouquet' , most of the other bits are just little pieces I've gathered, I love those optical testing lenses I've used for the head, and that clip on the top- it's an old 'braces' clip that came out of my Nans Button jar :), the keys are from a bunch my dad gave me
ok...off to put this in The Stamping Queen Gallery

have a Happy Arty Day :)
