and these cutie-pie mini die cut coasters were in there, so I've use 3 of them (that leaves me enough to make a cute little mini album..big smiles) So thankyou Sam, you helped me heaps with this weeks dare!!! ;O)
Now the journaling..

Every single Birthday celebration in my family, as soon as you finish singing the 'happy birthday' song... my dad sings this... Oh I used to be soooooo embarrassed as a kid, LOL!
now when I hear the 'happy birthday' song, I hear my dad sing this in my head!
bit's used are - GinX mini coasters from SAM :O)
Cardstock, some more of my tortured old book, some string, a jewellery clip, jumpring, and a vintage carnival token that says "for amusement only" heeeheeee...

Salt Challenge - Water

'WATER' is the challenge Esther has picked for the next 2 weeks at SALT
Water is such an important element in our lives, we can't live without it, just like our Lord and Saviour! It appears in so many places in the Bible, more than we realise.

This is my take on the Challenge, I created this little badge and a little tin to keep it in. the badge is 1" in diam to give you an idea of the size of theproject :O)
the badge is a made using the bible verse Psalm 1:1-3.

I want to be a tree who's leaf does not wither!

make sure you check out Salt and see what other ways the DT girls have interpreted this challenge, and keep an eye on what other people create too...

We'd love to have you join in the fun So come Join us.......

I also used some scrummy PP, some of which I sprayed with walnut ink and hero arts flower stamps, 7 Gypsies photo turn, the clock I purchased from an etsy store Pacokeco's Scribbles (she sells all sorts of wonderful bits to add to your papercrafts), and the frame is one of those old woodgrain ones you have floating around, and I painted it with red, then painted over with cream and sanded it to give it a distressed look....
hope you are all having a wonderful weekend :O)

DCM weekly dare - buttons

this week at Daring Cardmakers
it is Keryn's turn to dare us, I know you've all got buttons stashed away somewhere, whether they've been purchased at a cardmaking store or you thriftily snipped them off DH's old shirt. I'd like you to find those buttons and use them somewhere on a card. They can be real buttons, craft shop buttons, die cut buttons, faux buttons or another type of button, surprise us all.
We're very happy to have not only the usual NZ, Aussie and UK contingent this week, but also cards from Germany - from our latest,
very talented Guest Designer, Rein,
and from Sylvie who's kindly stayed on for another week and adds a French flavour to the blog.
Well Blogger has decided to play nice... after many attempts to post, I've finally been able to post my card here for this weeks dare..
I've had these delicious papers for a little while now,
the Lovely Mel Goodsell sent them to me,
and they have been calling out to be used on a card, and here tis...Thankyou again Mel, they are truly scrummy papers :O)
I also used my Sassafras Lass flower stamps & Heidi Swapp 'cherish' stamp and Heidi swap bling, some vintage buttons, my sewing machine & computer generated journaling.
Anyway, hopefully whatever the problem with blogger has been it is fixed now...

So where is Gill, and why isn't she posting pretty pictures?

Hi everyone :)
just wanted to say hi,
and let you know at the moment blogger is being a right pain and I can't upload any images :(
Which is a pain as I have some scrummy things to show
I also have a couple of wonderful links to add and it wont let me do that either
but I will keep trying and hopefully soon I'll be able to blog again.

Our home is slowly recovering from a very nasty cold/flu virus, we have all had it or still have it
Thankyou to all who wished us a speedy recovery... lets hope winter will soon be over ;o)

ooohhh in the meantime if you want to see a pretty picy I made and framed it's in the gallery at
The Stamping Queen
hopefully I can put the picy here soon :O)

Salt - Life to the Full

This week at SALT it's Casey to set the challenge
the theme she has chosen is "Life to the Full."
This theme comes from the verse John 10:10b where Jesus says that He has come so we may have life and have it to the full (or in abundance)!

ok..for my piece, I looked up a couple of translations, and felt the 'message' version jumped out at me so that's what I went with, "I came so they can have real and eternal life, more and better life than they ever dreamed of".

I'm so excited to be part of this fabulous group of ladies Lythan has pulled together, this is our second challenge at Salt, & we hope you'll come and Join us!

also, I've been missing in action a bit in blog land because after Georgia became sick, we all fell like a pack of cards, each of us in our family of 5 have all been quite sick and are still recovering... I'm off on retreat tomorrow afternoon for the weekend so am hoping to be much better for that, could really do with a weekend of Scrapping :O)

so I'll catch you all when I get back, have a wonderful weekend whatever you plan to do, and after our week, I wish you all GOOD HEALTH!!!

a little ATC to share :O)

Seek your treasures close to home.....
hmmmm....what do I mean...
Well I've had a very sick little one over the past two days,
and when your little ray of sunshine is unwell,
well it really makes you realise that their company is really a treasure.
so while my little miss G was sleeping today I made this little ATC
Using one of my SCRUMMY new stamps from
I love Cats Life Press Stamps, so quirky and they always make me smile!
I used this same stamp to make a tag a few posts down amazing how different it can look in different colours!

SALT - Praise

Finally I can tell You!!!!!!
is a new creative arts challenge blog.
We are a diverse group of card makers, scrappers and altered art fans from across the world who have been brought together through our love of Jesus Christ and our desire to express our faith in creative ways.
Once every two weeks we will produce work based on a challenge which we hope will inspire you to produce work of your own - and we would love to see it.So that we can all know Jesus more clearly; love him more dearly; and follow him more nearly, each and every day.

The first challenge is given by Lythan. It's ...
Praise.
Express your praise to God in whatever way you choose.Praise is such a wonderful word. We give praise to people - especially children when they have done something that makes us proud and pleases us. We give praise to God because he has done everything for us and we are proud to be his children.I think the team have come up with the most amazing selection of delights, especially considering this is our first go! You can find out more details about how, why and what we have made by visiting our individual blogs.
We would love to see your work too - a card, a layout, a canvas, a mini book... there are so many ways to praise. And if you link your blog here then we can visit and praise you too!
I'll have to come back shortly and add the details of my first 6x6"LO for my new SALT album
So come Join Us
it's only a matter of hours now......
What is it I hear you ask....
Well all will be revealed tonight!!!!
Something New is coming.......
Very, Very Soon!!!!
oooohhhhh Soooo Exciting!!!
