it's been a busy weekend....

It's been a little while since I made an ATC
and as it is Georgia's and my special weekend
I thought I'd make her one for her collection.
It's a dark & overcast this afternoon so it's hard to capture
the colour and the texture,
but it has lots of layers of Stitching, Ink, paint & rub-on's
and is a little more pink and pearly than it appears in this photo and she loves it :)
Of course a Girly weekend wouldn't be complete without a trip to the markets,
now would it!
We both fell in love with these butterfly brooches we found at our local market
and we had to have a 'mummy & me' pair :)

I've been following the very talented Katia Donohoe for a little while now through her blog Plushka's craft blog she makes the most gorgeous items, I was really quite chuffed to find that she had been featured in Septembers issue of Notebook Magazine. Along with her feature there was instructions for making one of her sweet little 'owl babies' when I showed this to Georgia she immediately wanted it on the list for our girly weekend.

Georgia only needed a little help with stitching some of the smaller pieces but apart from that she did everything else and is already hooked on making softies!

Thank you so much Katia it was fun to watch Georgia create with so much excitement as her little owl baby came together :)

If you'd like to be inspired by Katia
Here is her Blog Plushka's craft blog

Thanks for visiting and sharing our Girly weekend!

Published in
Australian Scrapbook Creations
No.74 (Vol 8 No 11)
as part of the 20, 40, 60 minute challenge.
I created this set of 3 ATC in 60 minutes.
Using Products from the Prague Collection
Just doing some catch up on my blogging....
while I was having my little 'holiday' from blogging I was happy to have had a few pieces published in some lovely Australian Magazines.
This was a super fun challenge 3 paper artists were given a beautiful and generous collection of Darkroom Door and we were also given a time limit that we had to adhere too.
Sarah Schwerin was given 20mins, Michelle Loffler was given 40 mins
and I was given 60 minutes.
I was very pleased I was given the 60 minutes time slot ;)
the other girls made such gorgeous ATC in their time limits and I was so thrilled to have been included in the same challenge as them both as I admire their work so much!
Back soon with more to share,
have a happy day!

Create Art....

Hello friends :)
it's been a little while since I've gotten my hands inky
and oh how I missed it!
I've just finished making this little Artist Trading Card (2 1/2" x 3 1/2")
using some lovely new Darkroom Door Stamps - DDRS027 Artist Set.
Lot's of stamping, layering, stitching, embossing and as mentioned 'inky fingers' :)
I dipped the edges of the ATC in embossing powder & set it to give the edges a nice finished edge this also seals the edges of the stitching saving them from unravelling.Well I do hope you are having a lovely day....
it's just the most lovely weather here at the moment,
the days are becoming cooler and the autumn leaves are falling,
It's such a pretty time of the year.
I hope today you can find some time to Create :)

Dream A little Dream......

I'm still having a lovely time using my 'Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist'
I made This ATC (artist trading card or ACEO)
using the Background I created with the Glimmer Mist you can see in the below photo
the original Cardstock was a creamy pale lemony/green (I know...I'm not that good at describing colours...lol!) and I placed a piece of cotton lace over the cardstock, then sprayed with Graphite Glimmer Mist.
Then set to work building my collage :)
I used ~ My newly created Background, Collections Image, a tiny scrap of Collections Printed Paper,German Scrap Border, Collections Transparency (that is the POST CARD piece), Melissa Francis Vintage Transfer (love how that makes the image look like a Cameo), Darkroom Door DDRS009 Little Dreams (for the 'dream a little dream' sentiment), lace butterfly, versa fine ink and my sewing machine :)
My Heart Goes out to All those effected this week by the Devastating Bush Fires that are currently Raging in Australia, so many people have lost their lives and many more have lost their homes,
You are not far from my thoughts and in my Prayers x

Chapter 13.........

Well I'm now the mother of a Teenager!
My eldest turned 13 this week
I make my children a little piece of art just for them each birthday, they love their collections and look forward now to receiving a new piece to add to it on their birthdays.

Look at this Cheeky Pair, they make me smile every time I look at them,

a bit like my two boys really!

Now Jacob is a Very Committed Reader, and just loves Maths

so this ATC reflects his two of his passions

the little Arrow and the numbers represents him growing up (Way too Quickly!!!)

I just love Stamping over the top of Old Text Paper,

But particularly love this look, Using a Number Stamp over the top of other Numbers going the opposite direction.

This Fabulous Queens Dresser Draws Stamp was in my last

The Stamping Queen

Design Team pack, I combined it with my Favourite Paper Artsy Numbers stamp, Pages torn from old maths text books, Collections Arrow, Number Stamps, Computer Generated words & my sewing machine.

and my Jacob loved it :)

a Whisper and a Shout ;)

I received some 'Tyvek' paper
in my Design Team pack from
Boy is it fun to use!
So I used the 'Tyvek' paper as the background for this ATC.
I screwed it up, then pressed it out flat again, next I rubbed my Distress Ink 'walnut stain' over the paper, which caught on all of the creases. Then I lightly sprayed with water, sprinked a little bit of embossing powder, heated with my heat gun which made it curl up and put a few small holes in the paper.
then I brayered it flat & I cut it to ATC size and started to construct my design.
other bits I used arre, Collections Vintage Wallpaper printed paper, Collections Chipboard branch, Collections word and my sewing machine

and now onto the
Shout

I made my first ever treasury list on etsy today

and it was selected by etsy admin to appear on the Front page!

I selected all Australian Artist because I think they are FABBY

here's the link if you'd like a closer look

http://www.etsy.com/treasury_list_west.php?room_id=23019

it will be in the Treasury for 3 days :)

I see you even in my dreams.....

Playing tonight with some of my new things from
I made this little ATC once again for my little dream girl
we've all come down with a nasty cold thingy....
anyway I think she'll be missing out on the Book Week Parade tomorrow
so she will be a little sad :(
so I made her this to cheer her up a little
she is a hopeless romantic, so she will swoon at this little verse :)
**************
Bits I used are ATC Collection Pad, Vintage Image, Kaiser Craft Rub-ons, Collections Chipboard hearts, Catslife Press Stamp (I'll double check that, I'm pretty sure it is), making memories alpha stamps, Versa Ink pads :)
**************************************

My little miss is always on to me about making her more ATC's

we normally swap with each other, but I don't seem to be able to keep up with her ;)

anyway...this one is for her, and she loved it

the little girl in this Paperbag Studio stamp actually looks a lot like my little miss, and she has the same cheeky grin :)

Fabby bits I used are - ATC Collection 'calligraphy' pad, PaperBag Studio PBS098 Little Lu Lu Rubber Stamp, Collections Tiny Scrabble Words, Kaiser Rub ons SB537 Elegance.

after I finished making this ATC I gave it 3 coats of 'mod podge' then 'beeswaxed' it with Beeswax and super fine steel wool, which gives it a lovely 'satin' feel and a wonderful smell :)

Hope you have a lovely 'dreamy' day :)

Spread your wings

Isn't this the prettiest stamp you've ever seen!
I recently received this Beautiful set of
Darkroom Door Stamps
it's called 'little dreams'
and just couldn't wait to ink them up

I just love Gesso at the moment, it's getting used on everything!

so I brushed some gesso on the cardstock first, it gives cardstock a 'canvas' finish,

then stamped the pretty image, then more gesso all around the outside of the image, over the top of the bits of the stamp I didn't want to be seen, (much more fun then masking)

I really like the Making Memories note worthy pads at the moment too, so there's a little corner of one at the bottom of this ATC too (it's a little hard to see the photo)

then applied a heap of Fancy Pants rub-ons, and then for an interesting touch I went over the whole thing with Jo sonja's gold iridescent glaze, you only see this when you tilt the card.

ooohh it's cold here tonight,

:: our winter has really hit Australia ::

*****************
I'm sorry I haven't been around
but if you've read my previous posts you may understand.
I'm just so tired from all of the emotions I've been through over the last few months,
all of the time I've spent away from my husband and children.
not to mention all of the traveling I have done.
so I hope you understand why my blog hasn't been attended to much,
and why I haven't been around every ones blogs.
I'm finding time to create again - Yay!
even if that old mojo thingy is a little bit of a problem :s
(but shhhh....don't tell her that!)

Treasure Family

In my Design Team Pack from

this month I have a packet of Collections Chipboard windows
they are the same size as an ATC (2 1/2 x 3 1/2")
So I couldn't resist making a little 'chipboard' ATC
The images are all stamped onto the little 'pushout' pieces of the window.

(the best tip for stamping on these, is to ink up your stamp, place it face up and press your chipboard piece onto the stamp, that way you can stamp your image much more acurately onto the little piece of chipboard)

The 'father' stamp is - Paperbag Studios -The View
The 'mother' stamp is - Paper Artsy Stamp MN09
the 'child' stamp is - The Queens Dresser Drawers 'little ledger girl'
The Corner stamps are from 'The Darkroom Door - DDRS008 Doors' set
I also used the Collections Chipboard window, Collections tab words
Versafine Black ink and Versa Color 55 Umber and my sewing machine.

Hope everyone had a lovely weekend,
We start 2 weeks of school holidays this week...
and both sets of Grandparents will be coming for visits
so the children are really looking forward to that :)

Salt - His Presence

It was my turn to set the challenge for the next fortnight at
SALT
I chose the theme 'His Presence'
you can read all about it HERE

This is my piece for the challenge,

I chose to use Joshua 1:5 for my inspiration

To Me God's Presence is Perfect

Because He is Always with me.

I have used the 'fleur de lis' to represent the Trinity

Father, Son & Spirit

the large number represents the days of the year

and the 24/7 ofcourse that means the hours of the day and the days of the week

Have a lookie at the SALT blog sometime this week or next and see what the other girls have come up with for this challenge,

also we are always encouraged by the beautiful ART that the people who join in make,

their links are in our side bar at the Main Blog

or why not play along with us this time, we'd love it if you did :)
