Edith's Mail

This is my 2nd go at this weeks Wednesday Stamper's
Turquoise Challenge,
my first is 2posts down.
I made this for a 'Postage' theme ATC swap...
and I gave it a distinctly Australian Theme as well, by using a Vintage Australian Postage Stamp, and the image of a vintage box of matches as the 'stamp'....
Amusing pieces I used for this ATC are - Crafty Individuals Script Stamp, the same paper I made for my 1st turquoise ATC, Artchix Studio 'wings', vintage stamp, Flourish PP (matchbox image), computer generated journaling, black versa ink & embossing powder,
and my sewing machine..

Red was Arthur's favourite....

You know I have a lovely blog friend and her name is REIN
and every so often she offers the most delightful vintage images for paper artists to use, this is one of Reins lovely images...
Thankyou very much Rein... Watch for the post,
I made a few of these ATC, there is one coming for you very soon.
I've renamed this little chap Arthur...
I am involved in a swap titled "Shades of Grey"
so ofcourse being me, I had to put a bit of humour into my ATC...
so here you have it...
"out of all the shades of grey, Red was Arthur's Favourite"
{My sense of humour really confuses my children sometimes, they each told me that red isn't a shade of grey....LOL!!!!}
This is the paper I made to use with my ATC,
I wet some heavy watercolour paper first, then splodged {yes that is a technical term of mine} some black ink onto the wet surface, dried it with the heat gun,
Then I mixed some grey paint up, dipped some crochet cotton in the paint and lay the painty cotton across the paper.. this created those lines you can see on the paper.
then using this same paint I painted my Paper Artsy Numbers Background stamp and repeatedly stamped the paper... and there you have it....
Shades of Grey Background Paper.
if you want to save shades of grey on your computer and use it sometime...
Please go right ahead :O)

"Home should be as Warm & Cozy as a Quilt"

Tiny Tiles

Oh this was such a fun Swap, I've just been involved with... over at Tammy's Blog
these little tiles look tiny cause they really are!.. each one is only one & a half inches square..
so it was loads of fun finding embellishments small enough to fit each one... Everyone in this swap had given a design brief of what they wanted their tile's theme to be.. We used 'Collections Tiles' which come in a sheet and you just pop them out...
Anyway these are the tiles I have made for the swap... & if you're in the swap.... have fun guessing till yours comes... ;o)
Thanks again Tammy, I'm sure it was tons of work to organise this, and am very grateful and can't wait to get my little tiles back... I am going to frame them together and hang in my craft space... Oh by the way incase your wondering ..... My theme was RUSTY OLD JUNK..... LOL
