art girl box

I've had so much fun with my
DT pack this month
using these gorgeous Paperbag Studio Stamps has been lovely.
This is a little box I've made using this fabulous PBS stamp
I stamped it onto a ScrapFX jigsaw
then Mounted it on top of the box
I Inked the box, and when that ink was dry I rubbed some VersaMark Watermark ink around the sides and top, and then lightly sprinkled some black embossing powder, giving the box a little bit of a 'grungy' look.

TSQ bits I used were, PBS Rubber Stamp, ScrapFX jigsaw,Collections word, little clip from the Collections Clipboard set, German Scrap Border, Printed Paper.

Well our School Holidays finish this week, I'll miss the kids being at home with me, it's been such a lovely time, My eldest starts highschool this week, so it'll be an exciting time for him, can't believe he's headed for highschool already......

Anyway hope everyone is having a lovely weekend, take care :)

Altered Jewelry Fun :)

This is another Design Team Project I've made for
Using the Scrumptious Stamp I used in my last card I made a couple of posts down.
it's a PBS stamp 'Companionship PBS040'
Isn't that face adorable....

I stamped the image onto a page from my Vintage Dictionary using Versa Fine Black ink, then mounted the little circle onto a piece of cardstock, then assembled the 'pendant'

The necklace is backed with this lovely metal stamping

(if anyone knows where I can get some more of these particular metal stampings could they please email me) I then tied a piece of Silk Embroidery Ribbon into a bow, added the chain and Glass Pearls and I was left with a feeling of complete satisfaction :)

Sharing some of my creative journey :)

So my little Creative Journey is still enjoying a little
Jewelry Playtime at the moment
and ofcourse my Blog is a collection, & a journal of the things I make
So here's what I do....
I take little Vintage Treasures and Re-create with them :)
From Vintage Chandelier Crystals, to Vintage Skeleton Keys
it doesn't matter to me, as long as it's got a little bit of history
and is an interesting shape, or just looks Gorgeous.
Many of the beads I use, are really old, like the black bugle beads and the orange ones, they are vintage Japanese Glass beads from the 40-50s...
and I seem to have an addiction for brass at the moment, probably because many of these old beads are threaded onto brass findings..
So Anyway, this is the new camera, I know I've still got to work a little more on my use of it..
but so far it seems ok to use :)
Thanks heaps for taking the time to look at my work :)
The Camera Dilema is almost over...
I have a new camera :)
now I just have to learn how to drive it...
Hope you are all having a Fabulous weekend,
we are still enjoying our school holidays here,
I love this time of the year
6 weeks seems to fly by so quickly
we always plan to do so much, and before you know it
the holidays are nearly over....

a little something creative.....

ok...before I get back to posting picys of paperart
I wanted to show you some other stuff I've been playing with besides the jewelry thing...
so here are two Wrist Cuffs, I've been enjoying making
I just wanted to show you some techniques that I use in many of my cards and other paperart items can be used in other things too...
the picture no.1
this is a wrist cuff I made then before I embellished it
I sprayed it with water and sprinkled 'Walnut Ink' onto it
before it dried I sprinked SALT onto it
giving the calico that awesome Vintage/Aged look
I use Walnut ink and Salt all the time on paper,
and it's exactly the same technique, just used on Calico (100% cotton)

Picture no.2, with this cuff, I torn strips of the same fabric (calico) and randomly stitched it onto the background making a really cool textured background, adding a bit more interest than just a plan piece of fabric, this looks cool when you do this on paper projects too, either torn bits of paper or even fabric sewn onto your cardstock or pattern paper...
And no.3, well I just wanted to show you how I open and close my wrist cuffs

this is an old jewelry making pin, It's always a good idea to think outside the square when it comes to creating...pick up something that isn't always meant to be used for something and give it a new use...

I've been playing with my Fabulous DT pack from TSQ

so next picys will be papery picys :)

You are Priceless

ok...so PaperArt will always be my first love when it comes to crafting
but I'm having a lovely time at the moment making little
'Vintage Assemblage Pieces'
This one is called
'You are Priceless'
So the Main star of this piece is a vintage brass arcade token, mounted onto a Vintage Brass Laundry Pin, add a few Vintage Glass Beads, a lovely Swarovski crystal and well there you have it....a Piece of Fun, Eclectic Jewelry with a Vintage Twist :)

Salt - There your heart will also be.

It was my turn to set the challenge for the next two weeks at
When I chose this theme the time of year came to mind
The Start of a New Yearand so many of us make New Years Resolutions
we look at the New Year as a sign of Change & a time to Grow.
In order to Change & Grow
We must Examine
So this weeks Challenge is perhaps a verse
that may help you to examine
Matthew 6:21
For where your Treasure is,there your Heart will also be.

Well this week I mentioned to a friend,

I've never done a canvas piece,

So decided that was what my Salt contribution would be

I loved it, and plan on making some more

This really is one of my all time favourite verses,

it's one you can't ignore

It's speaks Volumes in just a couple of lines

I've married this verse with this paper,

simply because the way the 'vine' pattern on it,

reminds me that Jesus is the vine (John 15:5)

so one glance at this piece my heart is full of praise

not only do I see the written text

asking where my heart is,

I also see the symbolic reminder of Jesus.
