Inspire - an art doll....

I've had some Beautiful pieces in my Design Team kit from
I particularly love this Printed Acetate by Collections
and I really wanted to create an art doll with it.
Well her she is
~ Inspire ~
I placed the acetate over the top of a 'raw' chipboard dress form and sewed it in place.
the Wooden Flourish is glued to the back and then sandwiched between the front dress form and another which gives this piece a lovely substantial feel.
here's a little tip for you when sewing Acetate onto chipboard ~
take a piece of scrap paper, using double sided tape tape your piece of chipboard to the scrap of paper, cut your acetate piece a little larger than your chipboard shape (my shape was the manican) Place your Acetate over the top of the Chipboard shape and tape the edges of the acetate (remember you cut it larger than the chipboard shape) to the scrap paper.
this holds everything firmly and stops it from slipping while you sew.
Once you have sewn your acetate to the chipboard shape, you can simply remove the excess scrap paper & acetate from the edges.

A Vintage Buckle.....

Recently My Dear friend gave me a bundle of buckles that were her Grandmothers....
A Sentimental Gift to say the least.
She thought I could use them with my craft work, and indeed I will :)
I asked her which was her favourite, and she choose this lovely 1920's Bakelite one.
I knew I wanted to make her something using this buckle,
but what..... as always the best thing to do is to gather your supplies and start playing.
And the result was this necklace, She loved it....yay!

A Mother's Love.....

gave us a double challenge this month, to use some Design Galore images & base our themes around Mothers :)
So I have made this 8 x 10" Collage to fit inside a 'Box Frame'
I just need to paint up the frame this week ;)
then I can post it off to my Mother
(of course the surprise is now ruined, as I'm sure she'll read this post before she gets the parcel... sorry mum! but it will look even better when you receive it in the frame...lol!)
I used lot's of lovely TSQ supplies -Designs Galore Image, Collections Baroque Papers, Collections Vintage Transparency, Collections Dictionary Strip, Collections Heart, Kaiser Flourish, German Scrap.
And a few bits and pieces from my own stash - Prima Flowers, Rusty Key, lace, buttons, butterflies, computer generated words, sewing machine & Cosmo Cricket paper.

Love You Mum ♥

Have a Delightful Week Everyone :)

Create Art....

Hello friends :)
it's been a little while since I've gotten my hands inky
and oh how I missed it!
I've just finished making this little Artist Trading Card (2 1/2" x 3 1/2")
using some lovely new Darkroom Door Stamps - DDRS027 Artist Set.
Lot's of stamping, layering, stitching, embossing and as mentioned 'inky fingers' :)
I dipped the edges of the ATC in embossing powder & set it to give the edges a nice finished edge this also seals the edges of the stitching saving them from unravelling.Well I do hope you are having a lovely day....
it's just the most lovely weather here at the moment,
the days are becoming cooler and the autumn leaves are falling,
It's such a pretty time of the year.
I hope today you can find some time to Create :)
