Block no.12......

Block no.12 in my
Block of the Week Project
I made block #86 Sunray
from the book
200 Crochet Blocks by Jan Eaton

I really enjoyed this block,
made using dtr, tr, dc, htr (english terms)
it was fun and kept me counting but wasn't hard.
I love the way the centre starts off as a circle
and then turns into a square due to the way the different stitches are used.
I'd like to make this one again soon, but with some extra colour rounds
to make the circles in the pattern stand out a little better.
...............................................
I missed my block last week, as we had a very busy week
and had our church camp on the weekend, which was wonderful :)
so apologies if you were waiting for last weeks block to be blogged about,
but from time to time this will probably happen ;)
................................................
I'm working on a little 'upcycled' crochet project at the moment also which I am looking forward to sharing with you all over the next couple of days :)
.............................

I hope you are having a creative week
~ Gillian ♥

Thanks Rein & Helda x

in answer to your question Helda
Whats a church camp, well you may call it a retreat or get-away I guess...

A large number of our church went to a lakeside campsite with cabins from Friday night till Sunday afternoon.

We had a guest speaker who gave 5 talks/lessons for the adults and there was a childrens program full of activities for the children, and lots of time to spend time with our friends from church.

The site also has canoes, swimming on the lake and an adventure wall with rock climbing and a giant swing which kept the kids entertained in the afternoons ;)

All in all it was a wonderful time!

Your block looks awesome, I too have this book and love the way you are trying out all the new blocks. Can't wait to see the finished throw with them all in.

Loving your squares, this one is great - I'm trying to think out a baby blanket made up of squares, this is one I'd love to include!

this is just lovely. Sounds like you had a wonderful time at camp. Sometimes we just need to stop and smell the roses and spend that time with the ones we love. It's so good for the soul. Your squares are just beautiful.
