little urchin....

I've wanted to make one of these 'little urchin' covered stones for the longest time.... and finally made one last night as I needed a break from my two big projects and as a reward for finishing another smaller project (which I cannot show you just yet).

Pattern was designed by Margaret Oomen and is so easy to follow,

it can be found on

Ravelry and also on the Purl bee blog

I hope you are having a wonderful week,

we are enjoying our annual leave at the moment....

so our days are full and we are making the most of the beautiful spring air!

Love! Have always wanted to try this... and while in the middle of a massive project, now might be the perfect time!!

I really love your crocheted stone! What yarn did you use - cotton??

Thanks ladies :)

Annemarie,
I used 100% cotton (Nerine by Moda Vera) it is a Fingerling weight 4ply and I used a 3.25mm hook (D)

the original pattern calls for a finer cotton and a smaller hook. But I just used what I had on hand :)

I love the wonderful contrasts here.....solid,hard rock encased in a soft yet secure crochet 'net'.
